Time Out...Time in...

Well, I'm a little lousy at this blogging business, but I thought I'd add another one anyway. We enjoyed a lovely trip to KC to visit family and decided to segregate ourselves while we were there. The girls all went to Time Out for Women in KC while the men and children stayed home (in KS) and played. Three men, six kids....what could go wrong? Actually, I don't even have a story to tell (probably because the men didn't tell us). But really, it seems like the men had it all under control. They even fit in time for a game just the three of them! Wow!
At time out, I had a great time listening to the messages of each speaker. I think my favorite was Sheri Dew. What an amazing woman! I came away feeling inspired, energized, and more focused on what is really important in life -- doing what it takes to bring you and your family to Christ. One extra perk was that I won a $50 gift certificate to Deseret Book. Woo-hoo! I had to arm wrestle Katie and Michelle to finally let them consent to splitting the gift certificate. It worked...we all walked away with some fun souvenirs for the day.
Back on the homefront, there's no time out in Ashley's court. Ashley keeps me very busy during the day. She has officially discovered unrolling toilet paper...fun! One of her latest little habits is to walk around with her hands behind her back. She'll walk up to me like that and I'll say, "May I help you?" or "May I take your order?" as if she is waiting on me. She is very good at pointing things out in books and in real life...bananas (called "nanas"), cats, dogs, babies ("bah-bah"), books, shoes, socks, and her all-time favorite -- her belly button. She loves playing outside and collecting rocks. With the nice weather coming, I'm hoping to be able to take her out to the park more often. We are excited to try out the zoo Easter weekend when we get together with the other Stewarts in Iowa. Fun times ahead!
